Nudge buyers toward your free-shipping threshold
If you offer free shipping over a threshold, the checkout moment when a buyer is just below it is your cheapest upsell. Renaming the paid option to say so, like Standard (free over $50), turns the shipping list into a nudge.
Set it up
- Open Template gallery → Nudge toward free shipping → Use template.
- The rule renames options containing standard when cart total is less than 50. Set the amount to your real threshold and edit the new name to match.
- Click Save rule.
Verify
In the Rule tester, set the mock total below your threshold. The renamed option appears in the preview. Above it, the original name returns.
Notes
- Carrier-calculated rates keep their carrier prefix on renames. "UPS Standard" can become "UPS Standard (free over $50)" but not a completely unrelated name.
