Hide Cash on Delivery for large orders
Cash on Delivery is convenient for buyers but risky on expensive orders, because refused deliveries cost you shipping both ways. Most stores cap COD at a fixed order value. Checkout Rules automates that cap.
Set it up
- Open Template gallery → Hide COD for large orders → Use template.
- The rule comes pre-filled: it applies to payment methods whose name contains cash on delivery, when cart total is greater than 200. Change 200 to your own threshold.
- Click Save rule.
Verify
In the Rule tester, set the mock cart total above your threshold. The rule shows Fires, and COD disappears from the "will show" list. Below the threshold, it returns. At checkout, the same happens live as the buyer's cart changes.
Notes
- Matching is by name and case-insensitive: cash on delivery matches "Cash on Delivery (COD)".
- Totals are in the buyer's checkout currency.
